Dallas Chapter Scholarships

Bonnie Brown Memorial Scholarship

Bonnie Brown, CPP, joined the American Payroll Association, Dallas Chapter in 1984 and received the Certified Payroll Professional designation in 1986. She authored “Fundamentals of Payroll” in 1987 and instructed classes by the same name at Northlake College. Bonnie was President of the APA Dallas Chapter for the 1987/1988 and 1988/1989 terms during which time she was instrumental in the forming of the “Principals of Payroll Administration” classes at Northlake and participated in the administration and instruction of these classes for 2 years. She served as Past President through March 1991 and passed away on August 30, 1995. The Chapter established a scholarship in 1993 but it was renamed in honor of Bonnie in 1995.

After Bonnie’s passing, the Dallas Chapter has remained committed to offering quality educational opportunities for our members to help them achieve the American Payroll Association certifications. This unique scholarship is for the DAPA member who is actively seeking to obtain an FPC or CPP designation.

The scholarship will include a Dallas Chapter Spring or Fall Certification Bundle, current PayrollOrg Payroll Source (choice of online version or hardcopy) and we will pay for your exam fee. The winner will need to enroll in the educational and Dallas Chapter courses and for the exam within one year of receipt of the scholarship.

  • Current member of the Dallas Chapter in good standing
